Texas Sky Original Watercolor Painting
Texas Sky Original Watercolor Painting
This is an original watercolor study of a gorgeous rural scene in Texas. In this painting, the tree, fields and grain elevator in the foreground take second place to the big, billowy clouds in the sky. I have always loved painting clouds.
My painting was based, with permission, on a photo taken by Erica and Jeff Williams in central Texas (in the Temple area, which is between Austin and Waco). You can see more of their beautiful photography on Instagram @subtleacts and @wetlandjeff.
This original watercolor is painted with professional-grade Winsor and Newton paints on thick, textured Arches watercolour paper.
Original Watercolor
Title: Texas Sky
Image - Approximately 12 x 8 inches
Paper: 12 3/4 x 8 3/4 inch off-white, 100% cotton, acid-free, 300-pound cold press paper
Four cut edges
I've signed the painting at the bottom right side.
The two photos show my watercolor in different light and from a different angle so that you can see the details and paper texture in various conditions.
Most often, the colors of the original painting will be more delicate than what is likely showing on your computer monitor or phone screen.
Because of the detailed, delicate way I paint, I spend hours and sometimes days on one small painting. This particular painting took me several painting sessions to complete.
