Maple Leaves and Keys - Watercolor Painting

This original watercolour is a study of maple leaves and keys (samaras).

I am obsessed with leaves. I admire, collect and paint them. Aside from the beautiful autumn colours, this grouping was interesting to paint because of the contrast of the sharp points of the leaves and the rounded edges of the keys.

This original watercolor is painted with professional-grade Winsor and Newton paints on beautiful Saunders Waterford cream-coloured paper. The paper is embossed with 'Waterford Series' in the right bottom corner.
